I set up and maintain your own online store on its own server. Every sale, every customer, every bit of data stays yours.
It's fine at first. Then the percentage fees, the monthly tier, and a few paid apps start quietly chipping away at what you actually keep from each sale.
You're renting space on someone else's platform. Try exporting your full catalog and order history one day. It's a mess, if it's even possible.
Hard to stand out when your store looks like a thousand others pulled from the same theme marketplace.
Fill out the short form below: what you're selling, roughly how many products, which country you're in.
Pick whichever plan fits: Basic, Growth, or Custom. You get your own server, your own database, SSL, and payments wired up.
Patched, backed up, and supported, so you're never the one debugging a server at 11pm.
You talk directly to the person building your store
Not a ticket queue, not an outsourced help desk. Just me, and I already know exactly how your store is set up.
Built on open standards, not proprietary lock-in
Under the hood: an open-source commerce engine and Stripe for payments. Nothing exotic, nothing you couldn't take elsewhere if you ever wanted to.
Clean data export, any time
If you ever decide to leave, you get your full database. No strings attached.
It's two phases, and there's no fine print hiding a third one. First, a one-time Setup to get your store live on its own server. After that, a simple Recurring fee covers hosting and maintenance: patches, backups, all of it. None of it lands on your plate.
Yearly billing gets 2 months free on any plan. Support beyond included hours: €40–60/hr. Non-default payment/tax/shipping integrations and catalog migrations are quoted separately.
Nope. I handle setup, hosting, and patching. You just focus on running your business.
You move up to Growth or Custom whenever you're ready. It's an upgrade to the same instance, not some painful migration to a new one.
Yes. Stripe handles every card transaction directly. Your store never sees or stores a raw card number.
You get a full, clean export of your database within the notice period, free of charge. Full terms are in the fine print below.
New features and redesigns aren't included. Those get quoted separately, same as Custom-tier work or the integrations mentioned above.
It runs on Medusa, an open-source commerce engine, with Stripe handling payments. Nothing proprietary here. You could take the whole thing elsewhere if you ever wanted to.
These get charged straight to your own account by the payment provider on every sale. They never pass through me, and they're not part of what you pay here.
| Provider | EU card fee | Non-EU / intl card fee | Support here | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | 1.5% + €0.25 | 3.25% + €0.25 | Native, official plugin | Recommended default, least maintenance risk |
| Mollie | 1.8% + €0.25 | ~2.8% + €0.25 | Community plugin | Strong EU local methods (iDEAL, Bancontact) |
| PayPal | 2.99% + €0.35 | ~3.4%+ | Community plugin | High buyer trust, higher fees, more disputes |
| Adyen | ~1.4–2% + fixed | varies | Community plugin | Best rates only at volume; complex onboarding |
| SumUp | ~2.5% (online) | ~3.5% | None, custom integration | POS-first provider; online checkout is a secondary product |
| Square | ~2.5% + €0.25 | ~3.4% + €0.25 | None, custom integration | Recently expanded to France; POS-first, online secondary |
Neither SumUp nor Square has an official or community plugin here, so wiring either one up falls under the "Integrations" tier: custom work, not a standard install.
For anyone who also sells in person. SumUp and Square are really the only two realistic options. The numbers below are approximate, so double-check current rates on the provider's site before quoting a client.
| Provider | Hardware | Hardware cost | Card-present fee | Monthly fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SumUp | Air (mobile reader) | €19–39 | 1.5% | €0 |
| SumUp | Solo (screen + reader) | €99 | 1.5% | €0 |
| SumUp | Point of Sale Terminal | €149 | 1.5% | €0 (Lite plan) |
| Square | Reader | €49 | 1.75% | €0 |
| Square | Terminal | €149–249 | 1.75% | €0 (add-on plans extra) |
| Dimension | YourShopBuilder | Shopify |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | €25–75/mo flat (Basic/Growth/Custom) | ~$39–399+/mo, rising with plan tier |
| Extra fee beyond card processing | None, you only ever pay your processor directly | Extra 0.5–2% platform fee unless using Shopify Payments |
| Checkout customization | Included | Locked behind Shopify Plus (~$2,300+/mo) |
| Apps for basic features | Included in setup | Often a stack of paid apps ($10–50+/mo each) |
| Data & infrastructure access | Full isolated database, real export any time | Admin UI only, no direct database access |
| Support | Direct access to the person who built your store | Ticket queue / community forums on lower tiers |
| Leaving later | Portable, open standards, as noted above | Proprietary theme language makes migrating costly |
Shopify's numbers are approximate list pricing as of when this was written, and they change often. Check current plans before quoting anyone.
Tell me a bit about your store and which plan fits: Basic, Growth, or Custom.
